You have to keep moving even when nothing is going your way.

Here I am today, writing a blog. – something I never thought that I would be doing. I have never considered myself as a writer because I used to be a bad writer during my schooldays. I had friends who scored better than me in every English test we had. But what am I doing here then?

I simple wanna share my thoughts to the world regardless of how many actually read it. I no longer want to dwell into my thoughts. I wanna put it in a piece of work. I wanna be free.

Why limit yourself by something which happened to you in the past? We all should be more kind to ourselves by giving ourselves the chance to try the things which we tell ourselves that we cannot do better than the others. We do not have to be the next Shakespeare. We do not have to be impressing anybody but ourselves. The key to happiness is to make peace with oneself and be more kind.

We have heard about people saying we must be kind to others. I myself have preached this so many times to so many people in social media and in person. Kindness is what I believe in. I believe that I ma completely myself only when I am kind to another. But along the line, I realized that I had missed the most important point in being kind, that it all starts with YOU. Yes . I had forgotten to be kind to myself.

That was one of the saddest thing in my life, the moment when I stood in front of the mirror and questioned myself. How kind had I ever been to myself?

That day was the beginning of my journey to self love and self awareness.

I decided on that day that I am going to treat myself right. I am going to be kind to myself first.

And it brought me here. Me writing a blog to share my experiences and knowledge to the world is one step closer to being true to myself. I have finally allowed myself to anything that I can be. I AM NO LONGER GONNA LIMIT MYSELF. I am no longer gonna say to myself that I am not capable of doing something just because I saw someone else doing better at it.

This life is not a race. We are not here to compete with anybody. I believe that we are here to be the best version of ourselves and that will definitely not happen if we constantly get demotivated by merely comparing ourselves with those who are already great to the eye of society.

Always, always be kind to yourself. Watch how you speak to yourself. Give permission to yourself to do what you always wanted to do. Nothing could get on the way of your greatness except you yourself.

Anyone who is reading this today, remember that you are not alone. We as a community could work together on being better us. I am with you.

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
